Whoa, I didn’t realize that it had been 2 months since my last blog.  Sorry about that.  We have had an extremely busy summer and haven’t had much time for anything.  The fishing has been great as usual, the weather has been terrible.  We didn’t have much of a summer this year, a couple of nice days here and there with days and days or torrential downpours in between.  The water is extremely high and the temperatures have definitely not been hot.  We are heading into the fall season soon and there is no down time in sight which is great.  We are pretty much booked up until November and looking forward to a busy snowmobile season.  We will be tearing down our motel units next week and building 2 more cottages to accommodate our bookings.  I know many lodges are running their fall bear hunts right now but we chose to stop our fall hunt.  We didn’t like the high female harvest levels plus from 60 years of bear hunt outfitting, the spring hunt is a much better hunt with bigger bears, nicer hides and much better tasting meat.  Hopefully we can convince our past fall hunters to move to the spring.  We still have another month and a half of fishing, grouse hunting will be starting in less than a month and our moose hunt will be here before you know it.  Time sure does fly.  I will try and be more consistent with the blog but with building 2 new cottages, I can’t promise anything.
